REM have announced details of their new album, which will be released in the spring.
Billboard reports that 'Accelerate' will be released on 1 April and will feature the tracks 'Staring Down the Barrel of the Middle Distance', 'Living Well Is the Best Revenge' and 'Horse to Water'.
Commenting on the direction of the band's 14th studio album, REM's manager, Bertis Downs, said: "It's not like we're going to pretend these are ballads. These are rockers."
Songs from 'Accelerate' were recorded at Grouse Lodge Studios in Co Westmeath.
REM previewed their new material during the band's five-night run at Dublin's Olympia Theatre in the summer.
