Kevin Spacey - Spacey Slams Us Tv Show For Short Interview
Actor KEVIN SPACEY has slammed producers of a U.S. morning TV show for cutting short an interview to promote his upcoming film RECOUNT.
Spacey's forthcoming movie covers the controversial stalemate that tied U.S. presidential candidates George W. Bush and Al Gore in 2000.
The actor appeared on U.S. programme The Today Show on Monday (19May08) to talk about the film - only to recount his disappointing guest spot to another talkshow host, David Letterman, later that evening.
He says, "I started my morning in a very unusual experience. I did a drive-by interview on the Today Show.
"You would think that a subject like the 2000 election would deserve to come into the studio, come in, show a clip. No, I was on The Plaza (outside) with (hosts) Al (Roker) and Meredith (Viera) and what's his name? Matt (Lauer). I was wondering where the hell he was.
"We were on The Plaza like we were waiting for a bus. The whole thing was over in about a minute-and-a-half. I could've done it as I drove by in my car.
"I think it's a new thing now: if you're not on (U.S. reality TV show) Dancing with the Stars, you don't get any time. Which is why I'm very happy to be in the studio. I'm very grateful. I thought I was going to be on 54th street on remote."

Harry Potter - Rowling Wins Privacy Case
LATEST: HARRY POTTER author J.K. ROWLING has won a court battle to ban the publication of pictures of her son DAVID when he was 18 months old.
The 42-year-old alleged the boy's privacy rights had been infringed by the long-lens shots taken in Edinburgh, Scotland by Big Pictures photo agency in 2004, but lost a legal battle in London's High Court last year (07).
Rowling took the case to the Court of Appeal, because she wanted her children to grow up "free from unwarranted intrusions into their privacy". A judge ruled on Tuesday (06May08) there was an infringement of her privacy.
Judge Sir Anthony Clarke told the court, "If a child of parents who are not in the public eye could reasonably expect not to have photographs of him published in the media, so too should the child of a famous parent.
"In our opinion, it is at least arguable that a child of 'ordinary' parents could reasonably expect that the press would not target him and publish photographs of him."
Rowling and her husband, Dr Neil Murray, released a statement, saying, "We understand and accept that with the success of Harry Potter there will be a measure of legitimate media and public interest in Jo's professional activities and appearances.
"However, we have striven to give our children a normal family life outside the media spotlight.
"We are immensely grateful to the Court for giving our children protection from covert, unauthorised photography; this ruling will make an immediate and material difference to their lives."

Teri Hatcher - Hatcher Not Happy About Tv Daughters Dismissal
TERI HATCHER has hit out at the producers of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES for axing her onscreen daughter from the show.
The actress was devastated when she discovered Andrea Bowen would not be a part of the regular cast for the next season of the hit show.
In the finale, which aired in America on Sunday (18May08), the cast was transported five years into the future - and Bowen's character Julie was revealed to be a student at Princeton University.
As a result, the character will be absent from the next season of the show - and Hatcher thinks that is a mistake.
She tells USA Today newspaper, "She (Bowen) is somebody who I have done the majority of my work with for four years. I've watched her grow up from 13 to 18, get a driver's license.
"I can't begin to tell you the depths of how impossibly hard it is for me to think about her not being there.
"This is a totally producer/network decision that I have nothing to do with, and I guess I can go out on a limb and say I don't support."
